Well Appraisal
At Blackbourn Geoconsulting we study the results of drilling in order to understand the main controls on permeability and porosity, and predict the distribution, geometry and quality of reservoirs using cores, other well samples and wireline log data. Services available are geared to the client's needs, and can include:
- Core Logging: We log, record and analyse lengths of core at the specification of the client
- Optical Petrography: We select, prepare, describe, photograph and provide grain analyses of thin sections of rock chips, plugs or cuttings
- Laboratory Analyses: We undertake studies utilizing techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD), heavy mineral analysis, sieve analysis and stereomicroscopy
